Affectionately known as “Lachy” to his clients, Lachlan Elsworth is the Chief Trainer at Samurai Day Trading and the lead educator inside the Live Trading Room.
Lachy specializes exclusively in Futures Trading and is recognized globally for his clear, structured, and refreshingly transparent approach to teaching traders how the markets actually move — in real time.
He doesn’t teach theory in isolation.
He teaches live, in the markets, as they unfold.
Global Trading Educator
Lachy has educated over 2,500 traders across 22 countries, helping students progress from complete beginners to confident, structured futures traders.
He has been published multiple times across multiple countries and is the co-author of the international bestseller:

He has also authored three books on Mastering the Art of Day Trading, sharing practical frameworks, psychology, and real-world trading principles used by professional traders
Education Meets Discipline
Before becoming a full-time trader and trading educator, Lachlan studied Science (Physics and Chemistry) at the University of Sydney — a foundation that strongly influences his analytical and probability-based approach to the markets.
Lachy then served 15 years in the Australian Regular Army, graduating from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, and completing multiple overseas deployments.

With over 4 years of hands-on trading and coaching experience, I specialise in helping traders build real-world skills through structured, disciplined futures trading.
Markets & Strategy Focus
My primary focus is on the ES (SP500) and NQ (NASDAQ), trading the DFR and SBR setups with a rule-based, signal-driven approach designed for consistency rather than hype. I prefer trading sessions that allow exposure to both the US and European markets, which is why I’ve chosen to live and work in regions that support this global trading lifestyle.

My goal through coaching is simple: to help traders develop the skills and mindset needed to create a full-time income from trading, while avoiding shortcuts and unrealistic expectations.

I’ve been studying the markets for over 10 years, but it’s only in the last 2–3 years — after discovering Samurai — that I’ve truly begun to master my craft.
Market Specialisation
I specialise in trading the FDAX during the European Open, focusing on reversal-based strategies. My preferred setups are double-touch reversals and static bar reversals around key pivots and brick wall levels, allowing for precise entries and structured risk control.
Lifestyle & Long-Term Vision
I currently live in Bali, which I love, but I also value the freedom to travel and experience new places.
My ultimate goal is financial and time freedom — the ability to explore the world, create meaningful memories, and live life on my own terms, without the constant pressure of money. Through trading and coaching, I aim to build consistency for myself while helping others do the same.

My preferred markets are the NASDAQ (NQ) and SP500 (ES) during the US Close, with a trading style centered around reversals and SBR setups, complemented by the occasional FECAT/EC entry with PRR confirmation from key pivot levels. I focus on precision, patience, and waiting for high-quality setups rather than forcing trades.
Lifestyle & Global Flexibility
I currently love living in Florida, though France also appeals to me for its ability to trade all three major sessions comfortably during the day.
Purpose Beyond the Markets
My bigger purpose in trading goes beyond personal success. I share the vision of helping others transform their lives through trading. It doesn’t have to mean millions of dollars, sometimes even an extra $500 USD per week can make a meaningful difference. Being part of someone’s journey toward financial independence is incredibly rewarding, and that’s what drives me every day.
